The TDP government faced a setback for moving ahead with the land acquisition in the riverfront villages in Krishna district. The High Court directed the government to maintain status quo in the Penumaka land acquisition.
The YSR Congress Party on Monday welcomed the High Court verdict on Penumaka Land Acquisition.
Speaking to the media persons, YSR Congress MLA Alla Ramakrsihna Reddy said that the farmers and locals were waiting for such a directive as it safeguards their interests. “The Social Impact Assessment in the capital area region was carried out was a perfunctory process that ignored the actual purpose of it. The state has to act as per the directive of the High Court now and we will keep a check on the obsession of Chandrababu Naidu towards land,” he said.
The court asked the State government to fix the issues with the farmers who raised objection to the land acquisition.
